Landfill Eichelbuck, largest PV plant in Freiburg – waste mountain turns into energy mountain

Freiburg/Balingen. In approximately ten weeks relatio constructed a solar power plant in Freiburg which performs 2.5 megawatts and is five-times larger than the major photovoltaic plant in Freiburg: The former landfill Eichelbuck in Mooswald near Freiburg therefore turned into an “energy mountain”. The project was inaugurated shortly before Christmas.

Balingen/Freiburg/Schömberg. The “solar city“ Freiburg and relatio realize an ambitious project together within this year: a PV plant on a former landfill of 17.500 sq m. Construction works will start on 4th October. The plant will be five times bigger than the largest solar power plants in Freiburg. Moreover relatio could deliver valuable know-how in regards to the project “Herrleswasen” in Schömberg which came to a standstill.
